
Fives Court Gallery: Reimagining the Mausoleum
Following the international competition, hosted by Glasgow Institute of Architects, come and see the shortlisted and winning designs. In addition to our Lego scale model of the monument, there are associated collections on display which include original plans and drawings, a key to the bronze doors and an unusual, illusion print of the carved heads above the crypt.

A Creative Scotland funded project using the natural history of Neilsland and Earnock community woodlands, once the former Neilsland Estate in Hamilton, as inspiration for an intriguing variety of beautiful art works. The stunning botanical artwork of lead artist Jill Sievewright is complimented with work from the SLC Museum Collection and local artists Jane Douglas, Gill Alexander, Gavin MacGregor, Paula Law and Ross Hynds.

An avid collector of everything, the Egyptian Sarcophagi collected by Alexander 10th Duke of Hamilton remain his most exotic and perhaps most infamous collections. Learn more about them in this insightful and interesting lecture by Prof Aidan Dodson, Egyptologist and historian, Honorary Professor of Egyptology at the University of Bristol.
