Lanarkshire Heritage Forum (formerly South Lanarkshire Museums Forum) is a networking and advice forum open to all museums, heritage organisations and local & family history societies in Lanarkshire. Our members are passionate about promoting the history and heritage of Lanarkshire and sharing their knowledge on a wide range of subjects.
As you will no doubt be aware, with budget cuts affecting our sector and external funding becoming increasingly difficult to obtain, working in partnership is very much the way forward. Over the past 3 years, LHF has been working towards becoming an organisation through which our members can access advice, training and resources on Museum Accreditation, fundraising, publicity and collections management to name a few. We have delivered a joint exhibition, ‘Fermtouns to New Toons’ in Low Parks, training on running your organisation’s social media and has been awarded funding from Museums Galleries Scotland to help produce banners and a website.
As your organisation is very much a part of the promotion of Lanarkshire’s history and heritage, we would like to invite you to join LHF and help us achieve our potential as a group run by its members, for its members. Our constitution allows for 2 individual representatives from each organisation and membership is only £15 / annum.
